2018 has been a  year of revolution for the box office. On one side, where the films like Stree, AndhaDhun, Badhaai Ho, Raazi etc. have left a mark on the audiences, there were big budget films like Thugs of Hindostan and Zero that left us thinking what is going wrong with the filmmakers.

Recently, two films released at the box office, one was the much-awaited film of Shah Rukh Khan, Zero and another was Kannad film KGF. In the normal course, we were expecting Shah Rukh Khan’s film to do wonders at the box office, but unfortunately, things didn’t turn out the way they should. Zero had everything, big star cast, impeccable performances and of course Shah Rukh Khan. But unfortunately, the poor storyline left a hole in the boat letting it sink. The film could not gain audience appreciation and failed to hold them for long. On the other hand, KGF a film that no one was considered to stand in front of Badhsha’s film, has managed to gain the appreciation of audiences and critics.

This is not just one film, another film that let us down was multi-starrer magnum opus Thugs of Hindostan. The film was a big budgeted and the presence of cast like Amir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan promised that the film would be a success. But, unfortunately, the story didn’t turn out the way it should be.

So, what is happening with the films that are being made, it’s the lack of storyline which is not able to attract the audiences. These films are lacking the content that could establish a connection with the audiences. Well, the year 2018 comes to an end and we have just one film left to be released and it is Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba. The film is going to release on 28th December 2018 and also has Sara Ali Khan. We are waiting to see is it going to lure the audiences or leave them disappointed.
