Shahid Kapoor to essay the role of Boxing Gold Medalist Dingko Singh

Recently we have seen many biopics hitting the screes showcasing the realities of our heroes, they were from different walks of life but what these films taught us was how to emerge as the winner in life. The latest addition to this list is Shahid Kapoor upcoming film which will be based on Asian games Gold medallist in boxing, Dingko Singh.

Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Padmavat which was a blockbuster hit and his next release Batti Gul Meter Chalu will soon hit the theatres. Amidst all this, Shahid is all set to start working on his upcoming film which is going to be a biopic. As mentioned earlier the film is based on the life of boxing player DIngko Singh. For those who don’t know about this player, then he was the first player to win a gold medal in the Bantamweight category. He is a source of inspiration for the boxing players who later entered the ring. It is not just Dingko’s professional life that saw ups and downs, and his personal life was also a roller coaster ride. Dingko comes from the humble family background, from his struggle in life to struggle in the ring to become a legend, has a story that everyone should know.

Dingko is also a cancer survivor, and the film will showcase that aspect of his life as well. How he was running short of money and how players like Gautam Gambhir and some doctors who later came to know about him extended their hands for help.

The entire story looks overwhelming and inspiring. The film will be stringed by Airlift director Raja Krishna Menon. He met Shahid on the sets of Udta Punjab in 2019 and will cast him in his next venture. Shahid has also nodded for the remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy, and this film was released in 2017. But for now, he is busy waiting to welcome his wide Mira Rajput’s second child in October.
