Batti Gul Meter Chalu: What does it have for the audience?

So, finally, we have the trailer of the Shahid Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu dropped on the internet. This is yet another social issue-oriented movie where filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh has highlighted the problem of power theft. His earlier venture Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was also a huge hit at the box office. This film highlighted the issue of poor sanitation.

With Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Shree Narayan Singh is unveiling yet another common problem faced in India, and that is if power theft. Shahid Kapoor, Yami Gautam, and Shraddha Kapoor will be playing a pivotal role in the film.

The trailer of the film shows different shades of Shahid Kapoor, whereas in the first part you will be bowled over by the comic timings of Shahid, the second half brings forth his intense side.

Shraddha Kapoor plays the love interest of Shahid. She looks well in her small-town girl role. The film begins with a focus on Shahid, Shraddha and Divyenndu Sharma who plays the role of a best friend of Shahid Kapoor. The first part showcases and easy-going life of these three musketeers until one day when Divyenndu receives a bill of 54 lacs from the electricity department. He commits suicide and Shahid decides to sue the electricity department. The movie takes a turn from here, and we see a great courtroom drama between Shahid and Yami Gautam.

All-in-all the trailer looks impressive, and every character of the film fits perfectly well in their role. This is the first time we will see Shahid-Shraddha and Yami Gautam together in a film. The pairing is fresh, the storyline is trending and contemporary, so we are expecting a great film . Batti Gul Meter Chalu will hit the cinemas on 21st September 2018.
