A romantic horror comedy: Will Stree give the Indian audience some fresh cinematic experience

Well, we cannot deny the fact that Bollywood has time and again served its fans with new themes and stories. We call this experiment cinema. However, the success rate of these films is not as high as it is in the case of commercial cinema. On 26th July 2018, I saw the trailer of Stree, starring Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor.  The film had the nuance of typical Bollywood drama, but I found a romantic horror comedy a breakthrough from the commercial Bollywood films that have hit the cinemas in the last few years.

2018 has been all theme based cinema, we had films like Raazi that have set the benchmark of success, and the year ahead we will see films like Gold hitting the screen. Amidst all this, the trailer of Stree dropped in. The film is set in a small town where men start getting disappear mysteriously. With the tagline of “Is Saal Mard Ko Dard Hoga,” the trailer immediately grabbed the attention. The trailer looks humorous, has some romantic sequences and also a few spine-chilling shots which makes us want to see more. Moreover, presence Rajkumar Rao and actors like Pankaj Tripathi makes it even more intriguing.

The trailer shows that Rajkumar Rao falling in love with Shraddha Kapoor, as the series of events unfold, his friends start doubting Shraddha and think that she is the ghost who is responsible for the sudden disappearance of men in the village.

Well, we have seen films like Hello Brother, Bhool Bhulaiya, Golmal Again that were made on horror comedy theme and were appreciated for their new concept. This makes us want to wait for Stree which is slated to release on 31st August 2018. For now, you can enjoy the trailer:
