SANJU Trailer : Ranbir Kapoor Justifies His Character Of Sanjay Dutt

Much awaited biopic of Bollywood superstar Sanju aka Sanjay Dutt is here at last. The part was played by none other than Ranbir Kapoor, he said played “Where else would you find a life with so much variety – a drunkard, a pervert and .. a drug addict”. It is indeed true, it is hard to even nowadays to find such varied plotline in cinemas too.

Sanju’s trailer began with Ranbir Kapoor uttering “Main bewra hoon, tharki hoon, drug addict hun, sab hun, but terrorist nahi hun (I am a drunkard, pervert, drug addict and everything, but not a terrorist).”

The themes that the film revolves around is drugs, prostitutes, terrorist, and bribery.

Judging by this trailer, it seems that character portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor is thoroughly researched and being portrayed in a very detailed and accurate way. It seems that character has no hesitations in talking about his own life, including the number of issues he has had. From his early hits to his recent flops to his prison sentence, the trailer covers the entire range of Dutt’s life.

Sanjay Dutt through Ranbir Kapoor has bared his life for this movie. I mean literally bared his soul and body for this part.

Even in one intense scene of the trailer, Sonam Kapoor’s character (one of Sanju’s many wife) barge into a toilet -room and yells at him,” Where is my damn mangalsutra”, to which Sanju (high on weed) grabs and pulled out a toilet seat cover and garlands her with it. Well, it indeed looks like that some drama is been introduced for the sake of the movie and begs authenticity of few scenes in the trailer, but nevertheless, it is going to be a blockbuster and be a definitely worth a watch for just Ranbir Kapoor’s performance.

The film also depicts the tardiness side of Sanjay Dutt as an actor, how he used to reach late for the shoots and his excuses in a hilarious clip, his tardiness in movie sets.

The film was well directed by Rajkumar Hirani and have a lot of varied cast members like Manisha Koirala as Sanjay Dutt’s mother Nargis, Paresh Rawal as Sanjay’s father Suneel Dutt, Vicky Kaushal as his best friend. Also among the cast are Dia Mirza, Anushka Sharma, Jim Sarbh and Boman Irani. The film is stated to release on June 29.
