Veere Di Wedding Banned in Pakistan
This is not the first time that Pakistan has banned a Bollywood flick, and this time it’s the much awaited, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania starrer Veere Di Wedding.
The movie is set to release on 1st of June 2018 and has already garnered the attention of many because of its bold storyline and protagonist female star cast.
But with much hype comes the controversy which has led to the ban on the film in Pakistan. As per the sources, the film has been banned in Pakistan because of “offensive dialogues and lewd scenes.”
The screening of the film was arranged for CBFC, Pakistan on Tuesday night, and as per the resources, the members of the board feel that movie flouts the Censorship of Film Code 1980 and is thus, unfit for the exhibition.
The movie is directed by Shashanka Ghosh, who hit fame with the release of Khoobsorat starring Sonam Kapoor. Rhea Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, and Nikhil Dwivedi produced Veere Di Wedding will hit the Indian cinemas on 1st of June and has already created a buzz courtesy its trailer song. Shikha is making a debut with this film.
It is the third film after Raazi and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran which has been banned in Pakistan. But for the Indian audience, they can gear up to enjoy some high drama on the screens on the 1st of June.
